As an artist/crafts woman, my materials are the life force of each piece of work that I undertake. I love to ‘experiment and discover’, whether I am creating an artefact or engaged in a restoration project or teaching others to explore their individual artistic possibilities. I love the process. My creative mind is constantly exploring new ideas, methods and techniques to achieve satisfying  and successful results whatever the project may entail.

I was often drawn to 'broken' objects or articles in disrepair.  Great pleasure is derived from repairing and renovating objects/textiles or items of furniture in need of restoration. It is always a joy seeing a client's treasured object or item of furniture, broken or worn out and seemingly beyond repair - come back to life!

Art as Therapy

During last few years I have been travelling and volunteering overseas. Visiting Africa, Jamaica, Canada and Israel, engaging in various projects, including teaching, taking art commisions and engaging in personal projects for both private individuals and organisations.

There were opportunities to teach an Employability Skills course, run by local government, to unemployed migrants in the UK. Also being a CELTA trained English Teacher I taught English to  students from all over the world. My passion however was teaching  Decorative Arts courses  - I have a a BA Hons in Ceramics and Glass.

This year, 2025 has opened up many new opportunities. Experiences with people from all walks of life have redirected my skills and passion as an artist. I began to think about utilising my varied artistic skills as a means and method of ' art therapy', offering classes, courses  that could help to facilitate 'healing and restoration'  in individuals with 'broken' lives.

I can offer 'tailored' courses along with positive encouragement and the 'tools' to facilitate individual restoration and a path towards wholeness. This in turn can open up new horizons in people's lives; physically, mentally and spiritually.

The practical applications of drawing, painting, sculpting, and making are powerful. (see under
RECENT WORKS, the tab 'ART AS THERAPY’). Under the tab ARTICLES I briefly make reference to my own journey from 'brokenness to restoration' through inspirational and creative art therapy projects. This rejuvenation, inspired me to want to help others.
